The NW-A105 is a great device—but not for everyone. If you’re just streaming Spotify or YouTube, you might be better off with your phone. However, if you listen to high-quality FLAC/DSD files, this thing is a game-changer.
Sound quality is unmatched compared to a phone. Even Bluetooth sounds much better with LDAC.
That said, the battery drains fast if you’re streaming with Wi-Fi on. Also, 16GB of storage fills up quickly, so you’ll need a microSD card for high-res files.
If you’re an audiophile or music enthusiast, this is worth it, especially if you grab a renewed/restocked unit for less.

As a musician, I wanted a high-resolution music player to catch subtle details in recordings. The NW-A105 does exactly that.
Every instrument stands out with natural tones, and the sound separation is amazing. Wired headphones deliver studio-quality output, while LDAC Bluetooth still maintains rich detail.
The interface is smooth, though I suggest disabling unnecessary background apps to save battery. Storage is limited, but microSD support fixes that.
If you’re serious about high-fidelity sound, this is a must-buy.

I bought the Sony NW-A105 specifically for high-resolution music, and I’m beyond impressed. Playing FLAC, DSD, and WAV files on this thing is an absolute treat. Compared to a phone, there’s zero compression or digital harshness—it’s like hearing music for the first time!
I tested it with Sony MDR-7506 and WH-1000XM4, and both sounded phenomenal. Even MP3 files sound better thanks to DSEE HX upscaling.
The build is compact, sleek, and feels premium. The side buttons for volume/playback are a nice touch, allowing me to control music without unlocking the screen.
🔋 Battery life? Not great if you’re streaming, but fine if you stick to offline music with wired headphones.
💾 Storage? Only 16GB, but expandable with a microSD card—so no real issue.
If you’re into lossless audio and want something dedicated to music, this is a perfect choice, especially if you can grab a restocked unit for a discount.

Let’s start with the good: sound quality is incredible. Whether using wired or Bluetooth, the depth and clarity of the NW-A105 surpass anything a phone can offer.
However, my main gripe is battery life. Streaming via Wi-Fi with LDAC headphones drains the battery fast. I get about 8-10 hours, which means daily charging. If you disable Wi-Fi and use offline FLAC files, battery life improves to around 20 hours.
The build quality is solid, and the Android interface makes navigation easy. Despite the battery, I love this device—I just wish Sony had gone for a larger battery capacity.
Would I buy it again? Yes, but I’d recommend keeping a power bank handy for long listening sessions.

I’ve always been picky about audio quality, and the Sony NW-A105 blew me away. The S-Master HX digital amp provides crystal-clear highs and deep bass, and when using wired headphones, the soundstage is fantastic.
I primarily use it with LDAC-enabled Bluetooth headphones for Tidal Hi-Fi streaming, and the difference is night and day compared to my phone. It supports FLAC, DSD, and high-res audio, making it ideal for serious music lovers.
Yes, the battery life isn’t amazing (10-12 hours on Bluetooth), but that’s expected from a powerful Android-based player. A quick setting tweak—like turning off Wi-Fi when not streaming—helps a lot.
For anyone who wants a dedicated music device, the NW-A105 is a no-brainer. If you’re considering a renewed version, don’t hesitate—it’s built to last and offers the same top-tier experience at a lower price!
